  4. Welcome to the PsL September 1993 CD. This month's CD contains nearly 700
  5. programs received by PsL in the last 30 days. It also contains a couple of
  6. dozen bonus files selected from PsL's disk-based collection for the AICPA.
  7.  
  8. To view this file, use the PgUp and PgDn and the cursor keys.
  9.  
  10. To exit, press ESC.
  11.  
  12. One other file will be displayed; press ESC again. Then PSL_NEWS will run.
  13. This is the program that accesses the CD. Next time, you can just run PSL_NEWS
  14. to skip seeing these files.

  17. 1. Run PSL_NEWS to read the CD-ROM usage license.

  20. 2. PsL News Files:
  21.  
  22. The files PSL_NEWS.0 thru *.9 are the text of the current PsL News. These
  23. files are in the PSL_NEWS directory and are used by PSL_NEWS.EXE. They are
  24. also in the file PSL_9309.ZIP in the \DOS\ELEC_PUB directory.

  27. 3. File Format:
  28.  
  29. All programs are in ZIP format. Some very large programs have also been
  30. installed on the CD so that individual users of the CD (as opposed to BBS
  31. users) can more easily try them out without having to go through a long,
  32. disk-space eating installation.
  33.  
  34. The "preinstalled files" directories do not have FILES.BBS files, as they are
  35. not intended for downloading (because the same files are in ZIP format in
  36. other directories). Sysops will probably want to hide the directories of
  37. preinstalled programs.

  39. All ZIPs have FILE_ID.DIZ files in them for easier BBS use.

  88. A bonus directory was included this month - the AICPA Utilities.
  89. Unlike the rest of the CD, these are NOT files received by PsL in the
  90. last 30 days. They are set of utilities - one set for DOS, one for
  91. Windows - assembled by PsL at the request of the American Institute of
  92. Certified Public Accountants for their members.

  94. The AICPA sets are all in ZIP files, but do not contain FILE_ID.DIZ files.
  95. The sets are in the AICPA\DOS and AICPA\WIN directories.

  98. 5. FILES.BBS files:
  99.  
  100. For BBS use, we have added FILES.BBS files listing the contents of each ZIP
  101. file directory. We have been told a dozen different formats to use, but the
  102. format we used was the most common:

  109. 6. The \SCREENS Directory

  111. The Screens directory contains screen shots of many of over 100 programs on
  112. this CD. For information about how to see the screen shots while reading
  113. PSL_NEWS, see TOGETHER.DOC in the SCREENS directory.

  116. 7. Reviews Files
  117.  
  118. In the REVIEWS directory are the reviews of the more than 8000 programs in
  119. PsL's disk-based collection. (These are NOT all on this CD.)

  121. The files RVW_??.ZIP in REVIEWS\RVW_ZIP are ZIP files of the Reviews by
  122. category (with ?? being a two-letter category code).
